National Women's Political Caucus Endorses Val

“Val Demings’ experience, first as a social worker and then as a police officer, has allowed her to see up close the challenges women and children face daily, and what is needed to turn things around so families have better opportunities for a better life,” said President Linda Young. “And as a strong supporter of women’s rights, she is the best choice to represent the 8th District.”

National Women’s Political Caucus Endorses Val Demings for Fl-8
2012 Candidate for House of Representatives committed to Women’s Rights
Tuesday, February 7, 2012 – The National Women’s Political Caucus (NWPC) proudly endorses Val Demings as the next Representative of Florida’s 8th District. Demings, a political newcomer, is exactly the voice Florida families need to stand up for them in Washington.
Prior to retiring from the Orlando Police Department, Ms. Demings served for over three years as Chief of Police, the first woman to hold that position.
“Ms. Demings spent her life working hard, through school, as a social worker, and through the ranks of the Orlando Police Department,” continued Vice President of Political Planning Donna Lent. “With that fierce determination, she is the best choice to represent Florida families and to get the country back on track.”
The NWPC is a national, non-partisan, grassroots membership organization dedicated to identifying, recruiting, training and supporting women candidates for elected and appointed offices at all levels of government.
