ORLANDO, FL-- Supporters gathered in Orlando Saturday to rally around Chief Val Demings, candidate for congress in Orlando's 10th District, and canvass the Washington Shores and Richmond Heights neighborhoods which are now part of the newly redrawn 10th CD.
"I'm overwhelmed and incredibly grateful to be joined by such amazing volunteers, who give up time on their Saturday so we can win on August 30th," said Chief Val Demings.
"My husband was raised in the Washington Shores neighborhood, some of our family still lives here, and I used to patrol the streets of Washington Shores as an officer," said Chief Demings. "It's important to me to be out here, talking to people about their day to day lives, and why I want to continue to serve them as their Congresswoman."
Chief Demings and her family joined volunteers, spending the morning knocking on doors. Volunteers will be out all summer knocking on doors and making phone calls around the district, which goes as north as Apopka, and spans the west part of Orange County.
