ORANGE COUNTY, FL-- Chief Val Demings, candidate in Florida's 10th congressional district, voted in the August primary election on the first day of in-person early voting. Chief Demings was joined by her husband, Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings, and the couple is encouraging people to get out and vote early.
"We know our primaries, specifically non-presidential primaries, bring out a historically low number of voters," said Chief Val Demings. "The Orange County Supervisor of Elections Office gives people plenty of opportunities to vote, including vote by mail and over 14 days to vote early, in-person. I encourage people to make sure they get out and vote, and know that every vote does count.
It is a humbling experience to see my own name on the ballot. I couldn't feel better about our chances on August 30th and I am proud of the positive and issue driven campaign we have run. It's taken a long time to get to this point, but we see the finish line and couldn't be more excited about this election."
