Former Orlando Police Chief and Candidate for Congress in the 10th District, Val Demings, announced Tuesday that she has been endorsed by the Congressional Progressive Caucus. The Congressional Progressive Caucus is made up of one Senator and 75 House Members.
“The Congressional Progressive Caucus is excited about Val Demings’ candidacy in Florida’s 10th Congressional district and proud to endorse her,” said Keith Ellison, Co-chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus. “Val understands the issues facing the people of Central Florida and we know she will be the progressive leader they need. We believe she will be an important advocate in the fight for a $15/hr minimum wage, and that she will help us protect our seniors by working to expand Social Security and Medicare. We look forward to having her join us in Congress.”
“The Congressional Progressive Caucus is working on critical issues that will improve the quality of life for working families,” said Demings. “I’m proud to receive their endorsement and look forward to working with them to raise the minimum wage, expand Social Security and Medicare and invest more into our schools. I look forward to being a progressive voice for Central Floridians in Washington.”
