Former Orlando Police Chief Val Demings announced on Monday that her campaign for Congress in Florida’s 10th Congressional District, raised nearly $300,000 in the 2nd quarter of 2016.
“I’m humbled and honored to receive this kind of support from people in Central Florida,” said Chief Val Demings. “Because of their dedication, we are able to run an aggressive campaign and share my record of leadership to voters all across District 10.”
In Q2 Demings raised a total of $296,621.73, bringing her cycle total to $829,930.27, with over $500,000 cash on hand.
“Val Demings has consistently displayed she is is the only candidate in this race who is garnering a broad base of support.” said Caroline Rowland, communications director for the campaign. “From Hunters Creek to Apopka ,the people of the 10th have stepped up and invested in Chief Demings as the best voice to represent them in Congress. We continue to lead our opponents in the polls, still holding the double digit lead that has existed since this race began. These fundraising numbers are just the latest indicator of who the voters in District 10 are going to send to Washington, and we couldn’t feel better going into election day on August 30th.”
