Val Demings Takes American Dream Message to Tampa
TAMPA – This weekend, Chief Val Demings, former Orlando Police Chief and candidate for the U.S. Senate, visited Tampa.
Chief Demings toured the Hillsborough River, visited Cuban-American-owned businesses in West Tampa where she talked to Latino voters and took questions from local media. In the evening she keynoted the Hillsborough Democrats’ annual Kennedy-King Dinner.
Here are highlights of Val Demings’ campaign stops in Tampa:
Early Saturday morning, Chief Demings toured the Hillsborough River and learned about the vibrant small business community of waterfront Tampa from Mayor Jane Castor.
On Saturday evening, Chief Demings keynoted the Kennedy King Dinner of the Hillsborough County Democrats.

“Demings said she’s confident she can reach the oft-socialist wary Cubans and Venezuelans who’ve moved further right, along with the more moderate, left leaning Latino groups like Puerto Ricans. Demings said her experience as a social worker and law enforcement officer for 27 years allowed her to learn how to communicate with varied communities.”
