Chief Val Demings Holds Roundtable With Venezuelan-American Leaders in Broward County
PEMBROKE PINES— Today, former Orlando Police Chief and candidate for the U.S. Senate Congresswoman Val Demings joined local Venezuelan leaders in Pembroke Pines for a roundtable discussion. During the meeting, Chief Demings highlighted her support for the Venezuelan-American community in Florida and vowed to stand up for the community in the United States Senate.
“I was glad to meet with Venezuelan-American leaders in Broward County to learn more about the issues that impact them, including standing up to the Maduro regime, ensuring Temporary Protected Status for refugees, and keeping our communities safe,” said Chief Demings. “I stand with the Venezuelan people who are struggling for freedom and democracy against corrupt dictator Nicolás Maduro, and will continue to stand with Venezuelan-Americans fighting for a brighter and safer future.”
“We are grateful to Congresswoman Val Demings for her unconditional support of the Venezuelan community and for meeting with us today,” said Venezuelan-American Caucus Director Ade Ferro. “Congresswoman Demings has demonstrated her support for our cause many times, by condemning the Maduro regime, and advocating for freedom and the return of democracy to Venezuela. We appreciate her support of TPS for Venezuelans and her interest in the well-being of all of us. Congresswoman Demings has our backs, especially in Florida.”< Back to all News
